Information Request – New Appliances and Stations Dunedin 
 
We refer to your official information request dated 25 May 2023 asking for the following 
information. 
 
I would like to request information regarding plans for new appliances and 
stations being built, including any stations being refurbished in the Dunedin area 
within the next 5 years. 
 
In accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), please find below a 
response to your request. 
 
New Appliances 
 
Please find enclosed the current Fire and Emergency New Zealand Appliance Cascade Plan which 
includes the plan for Dunedin appliances. Dunedin are due to receive one aerial appliance and one 
incident support vehicle within the next five years. Please note, that it is expected that there wil  
be other new appliances within this time, but the quantity and timing has not yet been 
determined. 
 
New buildings and refurbishments  
 
Fire and Emergency currently have no approved plans for any new stations to be built in the 
Dunedin area within the next five years. We are continually carrying out minor maintenance to all 
stations, but at this stage we have no significant refurbishments planned.
