Hello not sure what department to contact but I would like to know how the living wage 
in nz is calculated.  
 
On 1 June 2023 my office wrote to you to advise that the living wage is promulgated by NGO 
Living Wage Movement Aotearoa New Zealand who are provided with the living wage figure 
by  New  Zealand  Family  Centre  Social  Policy  Unit.  The  calculations  behind  this  figure  are 
publicly available at https://www.livingwage.org.nz/reports_and_research 
 
I trust this addresses the information you requested. Given I hold no further information, I am 
therefore refusing your request under section 18(g) of the OIA because the information is not 
held. 
 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision.
