Caveats
- Countries with fewer than 5 applications for a particular status have been masked with < 5 to
prevent possible identification of individuals
- There was no Workstream 6 in January 2023
- Data for ‘Processing’, ‘Unassigned’ and ‘Withdrawn’ for all countries is based on what an
applicant has provided as their Country of Birth. This may later be corrected
- A person born in New Zealand (NZ) from 1 January 2006 is only a NZ citizen if one or more of
their parents was a NZ permanent resident or NZ citizen at the time of their birth. Therefore,
a small number of people may apply for a grant of citizenship in this situation and record
their country of birth as NZ
- The numbers come from a dynamic system environment and may differ slightly from
previous or future reporting
