I refer to your request for information dated 4 June 2023 made under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act). You have requested information in relation to the availability of University Flats (Uni 
Flats) in 2024. 
 
Please see below our response to your request. 
 
1.  Will the Uni Flats be available for domestic students in 2024? 
 
Yes, domestic students will be able to apply for Uni Flats in 2024. 
 
a.  If yes, is there any additional criteria in which domestic students must meet in 
order to apply? 
 
No, there will be no additional criteria that will need to be met by domestic students in order to 
apply for Uni Flats in 2024.  
 
2.  What is the expected weekly cost of staying in the Uni Flats for 2024? 
 
The 2024 standard shared flat room rate has recently been confirmed and will be $258 per week. 
This includes power and Wi-Fi, and all flats are fully furnished. Uni Flats contracts run for 49 weeks 
and there is no bond. Other costs include the hiring of a bedding pack ($120 per year), a one-off 
administration fee ($200) and a one-off activities fee ($200).  
 
The 2024 prices for the standard shared flat will be available soon on the University website, which 
will also include the costs of other accommodation options such as en-suited rooms, self-contained 
studio units and self-contained flats (one or two bedrooms). 
 
3.  When will applications be open and when will applicants be informed of whether their 
application was successful or not? 
 
Applications for Uni Flats in 2024 will open during the week beginning 3 July 2023. There is no set 
date in which applicants will be informed of whether their application was successful or not – upon 
receiving applications, Uni Flats staff will start arranging flat viewings where possible and begin 
issuing contracts after that. There is no set date as flat viewings are dependent on the number of 
applications received, and are also dependent on the availability of flats for organising viewings.
