Local Government Official Information & Meetings Act 1987 Request:
We refer to your email of 22 June 2023, which includes requests for information under
the Local Government Official Information & Meetings Act 1987. Your particular
requests and responses are set out below:
Please identify for your CDEM Group and it’s members each building that is currently
identified as the building intended/likely to be used as – the ECC – an EOC after seismic
event. Please provide the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last assessment,
and the type of seismic assessment completed. Alternatively if you do not hold/cannot
provide the above please provide the last seismic assessment for the buildings
identified above.
The Timaru District Council is one of the group members of the Canterbury Regional
Council CDEM Group. The Timaru District Council has two buildings identified as being
used after a seismic event. Details of current %NBS at IL4 including the date of the last
assessment and type of assessment are outlined below:
i.
The Timaru District Council main building located at 2 King George Place,
Timaru, is the main EOC centre for use after a seismic event. There is no %NBS
at IL4 rating available at this time. A full DSA Report has been commissioned.
This started in March 2023 and is still currently in concept and first phase
investigations, with early building and geo technical investigations underway.
ii.
Timaru District Council has a secondary site, the West End Hall, located at 35A
Maltby Avenue, West End, Timaru. A full DSA report was completed, and the
building is rated at 50% NBS at IL4. The DSA Report was received in January
2023.
