[FYI request #23098 email]
Dear M. Spalding
Thank you for your FYI request of 12 June 2023 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities
requesting the following information under the Official Information Act (1982):
•
I am aware that local residents were invited to provide feedback and feedback was
given. Can you advise why this information (with redactions) has not been included in
the initial response?
•
You note that one document has not been supplied as it is 'out of scope', can you
advise why this document is considered out of scope?
•
In addition, as the project was placed on hold, I would expect that there has been a
report completed to the decision maker and/or email correspondence within Kainga
Ora detailing those reasons. Can you please advise why this has not been included in
the response?
During our scoping of your original request we were unware of the letter that had been sent to
residents, inviting them to provide any feedback or queries they may have had. This was an
oversight and I apologise for this. This feedback has now been provided to you in the
attached PDF. Please note that personal information has been redacted under section 9(2)(a)
of the Official Information Act, in order to
‘…protect the privacy of natural persons …’ who
supplied feedback.
The feedback was received, acknowledged and reviewed by Kāinga Ora’s engagement and
project teams. Concerns raised in the feedback largely addressed privacy, landscaping,
parking, vehicle access, flooding and sewerage. Our plans aim to incorporate feedback from
neighbours, where possible, which wil be reflected in the design elements if or when the
project is resumed. The development is currently on hold while we consider options for the
site.
Some information was withheld from the Redevelopment Work Order that was provided to
you as it was not in scope of your request. This is because it captured information regarding
properties that were unrelated to your request.
A copy of the architects email which led to the pausing of the development has been provided
to you, with 9(2)(a) redactions.
Regards,
Rachel Kelly
