Introduction
When to use
Fire and Emergency personnel will apply this policy to Fire and Emergency
appliances. For the timetable of scheduled maintenance, see the Appliance
maintenance summary and schedule (FL3-3 SC).
What to do
Fire and Emergency appliance maintenance includes all the tasks outlined in the
Appliance service checklist (FL7 FMh).

Restrictions
No modifications are to be made to Fire and Emergency appliances (including
on
fixtures and fittings) without approval from the National Manager Fleet or delegated
modifications

This restriction includes:

adding or modifying fixtures and fittings
•
adding equipment that requires:
o
securing in place
o
power supply
Examples of modifications that need prior approval include:
•
adding or modifying a fixture that holds personal protective equipment such
as helmets
•
adding battery powered equipment that has a battery charger wired into the

cab or chassis.
