Local Government Official Information Request – ECC/EOC Seismic Resilience
I refer to your official information request transferred by Bay of Plenty Regional Council and
received by Western Bay of Plenty District Council (Council) on 14 June 2023 where you have
requested the information pertaining to ECC/EOC Seismic Resilience.
The answers to your questions are set out below:
1. Please identify for your CDEM Group and its members each building that is currently
identified as the building intended/likely to be used as -the ECC -an EOC after a seismic
event.

2. Please provide the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last assessment, and the
type of seismic assessment completed.
Details of seismic resilience for Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s Emergency
Operations centre (EOC) current %nbs at IL4:
- Timber bracing wal s:
100%NBS(IL4)
- Roof Bracing:
80%NBS(IL4)
The date of the last assessment was conducted on 12 May 2020.
The type of seismic assessment conducted was a Detailed Seismic Assessment (DSA) for
the main office building complex at 1484 Cameron Road Tauranga.
3. Alternately if you do not hold/cannot provide the above please provide the last seismic
assessment for the buildings identified above.
