[FYI request #23128 email]
Dear Erika Whittome
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), received
on 14 June 2023. You requested the following:
What number of staff did you terminate or place on any form of " extended leave"
due to your vaccination mandates around Nov/Dec 2021 and Jan 2022? Please also
share the total headcount as of 15 Nov 2021 and today (when you answer this OIA).
Inland Revenue makes it a priority to keep our people safe and well, ensuring we provide
a safe and healthy work environment. As such, Inland Revenue did not dismiss or place
any staff on extended leave who did not have a COVID-19 vaccination. Approximately 120
people worked from home if they did not yet have, or did not choose to share, a My Vaccine
Pass for the duration our initial vaccine policy. The initial policy required office-based staff
to show a My Vaccine Pass for the period of 16 December 2021 to Monday 9th May 2022.
Inland Revenue’s total staff headcount on 15 November 2021 was 4,692. As of 30 June
2023, the total staff headcount is 4,280.
