[FYI request #23414 email]
Dear Mark Honeychurch
Thank you for your email of 6 July 2023 requesting information relating to water dowsing or
divining. Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested the following:
I would like to know whether dowsing or divining (using dowsing rods, pendulums or
other similar equipment) has been used in any of the projects your organisation has
funded over the last 5 years. If so, I would like a list of which projects dowsing was
used for, how much was spent on dowsing services, and, if possible, who
provided/performed the dowsing.
The Ministry for Primary Industries does not use the method of water dowsing or divining in
any of our projects, and has not done in the last five years. Therefore, you request is being
declined under section 18(e) of the OIA -
that the document alleged to contain the
information requested does not exist.
Should you have any concerns with this response, I would encourage you to raise these with
the Ministry for Primary Industries at
[email address]. Alternatively, you
are advised of your right to also raise any concerns with the Office of the Ombudsman.
Contact details are: Office of the Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington 6143 or at
[email address].
Yours sincerely
