Your request for Official information, reference: HNZ00026022
Thank you for your email on 20 July 2023, asking for the following under the Official Information
Act 1982 (the Act):
“I wish to get the statistics on the number of people from when the Covid vaccination
programme began to the end of 2022, that had physical side affects from the Vaccine as to
the people who did not have any side effects. Also the number of people who died from
natural causes in 2018 as to those in 2020.”
The data for total numbers of adverse events doesn’t exist and is refused under section 18(e) of
the Act. However Post-Vaccine-Symptom Check (PVSC) data for a representation of those who
did/didn’t experience any adverse events is publicly available here:
https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/active-monitoring-intro.asp.
Additionally, reports of adverse reactions following COVID-19 vaccination that have been reported
to Medsafe are available here:
https://www.medsafe.govt.nz/COVID-19/vaccine-report-
overview.asp
The data for deaths registered in New Zealand from 1948-2020 is available
on Mortality web tool –
Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand. Please note that data for 2019 and 2020 is preliminary.
