Thank you for your request to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, dated 24 July 2023, which you
made through th
e www.fyi.org.nz website. You requested the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“
Could you please provide the current - FY24 - salary levels for Kainga Ora roles. For example
the salary for a B15 role or a S2 role.”
The requested information in relation to pay rate levels 11 – 17 and S1 – S4 is provided in Table 1,
below. However, pay rates for pay rate levels 22 – 25 have been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the
Act to protect the privacy of natural persons. I have considered the public interest considerations in
section 9(1) of the Act and do not consider the withholding of the information from this response is
outweighed by the public interest in making that information available.
Please note that most roles within Kāinga Ora fall within a relatively narrow range within this table. The
median base salary for active permanent and fixed-term staff as at 31 July 2023 was $108,859.
