For update on the website please – no great rush
Wingate Station: Shelter Replacement – November 2022 to May 2023
…new shelter in April-May 2023.
…is installed in May.
(this shelter is about 75% installed and will be finished early next week – I’ll get a completion
photo for you and advise, so we can shift this to completed projects)
Ngauranga: Subway Upgrades – November 2022 to May 2023
…with a new roof. Cosmetic upgrades will include new handrails, surface painting, and a flooring
upgrade.
(this has been amended to now also include the cosmetic upgrades, which are following on from
the strengthening completion)
Petone: Shelter Upgrades and Platform Works – December 2022 to May 2023
May 2023 Update: The building has been replastered and resurfaced. Laminated glass screens
and seats will be installed throughout May, which will complete the project.
Pomare: Subway Upgrades – September 2022 to May 2023
…it is anticipated that all works will be completed by mid-May 2023.
(completed by the end of next week!)
Taita Subway Upgrades – November 2022 to June 2023
….of ramp walls. The subway will then undergo a cosmetic upgrade, which will include repainting
and surface upgrades, as well as the installation of new lighting, CCTV and accessible handrails.
(this has been amended to now also include the cosmetic upgrades, which are following on from
the strengthening completion)

Updates as follows, amendments in red.
Wingate Shelter Replacement:
Now completed (May 2023), please move to completed projects – see attached completion
photo.
Ngauranga: Subway Upgrades – November 2022 to July 2023
Remove the second and third paragraphs, add ‘all accessways will stay open, and scaffolding will
be in place where necessary’ to the first paragraph (to keep the summary to one block of text,
with updates below it).
June Update: Subway ramps have now been strengthened with new steel and concrete.
Cosmetic upgrades are underway, with surfaces being sealed and painted.
Petone Shelter Upgrades:
…which will be replaced with glazed screens in late June 2023.
June Update: Installation of screens and seats is underway, with anticipated completion at the
end of June.
Pomare Subway Upgrades – September 2022 to June 2023:
December to June: Lighting, illuminated handrails, CCTV and entrance canopies
June Update: Pelmet lighting with integrated CCTV and PA systems has been completed, and the
second entry portal will be installed mid-June. Floor upgrades are underway, and will be
completed mid-June.
Naenae Subway Upgrades – September 2022 to July 2023:
Replace April update with June Update: Entry portals are installed, and will have vinyl lettering
and CCTV added. Lighting pelmets along the north wall are complete, and illuminated handrails
are installed on all ramps/stairs. Work to upgrade the south wall is ongoing, and non-illuminated
handrails will soon be added inside the tunnel. Other works to occur through June/July include
concrete sandblasting of mural patterns, installation of projection hardware, and a flooring
upgrade. [leave the ‘delays and issues’ body of text, minus the accessibility issues from the start
as this has resolved].
Taita: Subway Upgrades – November 2022 to August 2023
June Update: Concrete spraying is underway, and the northern wall will be completed by the end
of June. Hoarding will be relocated to switch works to the southern wall by end of June.
Strengthening props will be installed in both entry ramps on 26 June. Cosmetic upgrades will
occur throughout July/August, which will include surface upgrades, pelmet lighting, entrance
portals and additional CCTV.
Epuni: Subway Upgrades – January 2023 to August 2023
June Update: Concrete spraying is underway, and is likely to be completed late June.
Strengthening portals are all installed. Cosmetic upgrades will occur throughout June-August,
which will include surface upgrades, pelmet lighting, entrance portals and additional CCTV.
Kenepuru Station: Shelter Replacement:
Now completed (June 2023), please move to completed projects. Will grab a completion photo
this week!
Paremata: South Building Demolition and New Shelter Additions – October 2022 to June
2023:
Remove photo and replace with the Wingate completion image, keep the label.
June Update: The northern shelter is fully installed. The southern shelter concrete foundation
will be poured mid-June, with shelter install to occur in late June.
Awarua Street Station: Shelter Replacement – April to September 2023
June Update: Strengthening of the shelter structure is underway, and due for completion early
July. Design for the cosmetic refurbishment (including screens and seats) is 90% complete.
Cosmetic upgrades will occur throughout July-September.
