Caveats to the data 
•  The data was collated on, and is accurate, as of 9 August 2023. 
•  Some applicants incorrectly enter their place of birth as New Zealand when they apply for citizenship. When 
their application is assessed by the Department it will be corrected. Although, some New Zealand born are 
valid in a small number of circumstances. 
•  Counts between 1 and 4 are masked by <5 to help prevent identification of individuals. If a country, 
workstream or status had a count of zero then this is not shown in the tables. 
•  As the data is extracted from a dynamic system, there may be small variances when compared with prior or 
future datasets.
