OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT 1982 (OIA) – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION -
CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL)

We write further to our email of 16 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA
request (the
Request) of 14 August 2023 seeking information (if held by CIAL) in
relation to visitor numbers to the South Island.
Request: Received 14 August 2023 – Correspondence with tourism agencies
“Could you please send me all correspondence, meeting notes, presentations,
briefings and such like with or to tourism organisations, on the topic of a new airport
in Central Otago.”
From the outset, we consider your Request too broad in scope and therefore, we will
be unable to provide you with this level of information. Your Request has no defined
dates and covers a large raft of correspondence which would need to be extracted
from numerous sources and places internally. To do so, would involve the diversion of
personnel for a substantial period of time to go through and collate the information
you are requesting, with no defined period included.
In order to best assist you, we ask that you refine or clarify your Request above. If
you are unable to do so, your Request shall be refused under Section 18(f) of the OIA.
