CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL)

We write further to our email of 18 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA 
request (the Request) of 16 August 2023 to CIAL seeking the following information: 
Request - Received 16 August 2023 – Correspondence with MPs 
“A copy please of all correspondence since January 2020 with any member of 
parliament re Central Otago Airport.”

This letter is to advise you that CIAL is respectfully extending the 20 working days 
available  to  respond  to  your  request,  as  allowed  under  section  15A  of  the  Official 
Information  Act.  We  will  require  an  additional  10  working  days  from  when  our 
response to you would have been due (13 September 2023). The team who is largely 
involved regarding this matter, is working against various stringent timeframes and 
cannot  currently  respond  to  this  request.  We  will  send  you  a  response  by  27 
September 2023.

This deadline is being extended because consultations necessary to make a decision 
on your request cannot be reasonably made within the original time limit, as allowed 
for by section 15A(1)(b).

You  have  the  right  to  seek  an  investigation  and  review  by  the  Ombudsman  of  the
