CHRISTCHURCH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LIMITED (CIAL)

We write further to our email of 18 August 2023, acknowledging receipt of your OIA 
request (the Request) of 17 August 2023 seeking information (if held by CIAL) in 
relation to Climate Change. 
Request: Received 17 August 2023 – Climate Change 
“I see that you make reference to climate change in your communications about the 
need for a new airport. Please provide a copy of all correspondence, presentations, 
meeting notes and documents which include reference to climate change, in the last 
12 months.”  
From the outset, we consider your Request too broad in scope and therefore, we will 
be unable to provide you with this level of information. Your Request covers a large 
raft of correspondence which would need to be extracted from numerous sources and 
places internally. To do so, would involve the diversion of personnel for a substantial 
period of time to go through and collate the information you are requesting.  
In order to best assist you, we ask that you refine or clarify your Request above. If 
you are unable to do so, your Request shall be refused under Section 18(f) of the OIA.
