Thank you for your email of 23 August 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing information:
Statistics relating to the Parent Retirement Category (F3) for the last five years.
For each of the years, please provide:
- Number of new application received that year
- Number of applications on hand that year
- Number of applications allocated to an immigration officer that year
- Number of applications approved (post-AIP) that year
- Average processing time (from lodgement to decision) for applications approved (post-AIP) that
year
- Number of applications declined that year
- Average processing time (from lodgement to decision) for applications declined that year

We are unable to provide the number of applications that were allocated to an immigration officer across
each of the last five years and as such this part of your request is refused in accordance with section 18(g) of
the Act as this information is not recorded. We have no grounds for believing that the information is held by
any other entity as described in section 18(g)(i) or connected more closely with the functions of another
entity as described under section 18 (g)(ii). However, we can provide information showing whether an
application submitted in the past is currently allocated to an immigration officer, and this is provided in
Table 3.
