I refer to your information request dated 5 September 2023 made under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act). You have requested the following: 
 
“a spreadsheet or document containing the top 280 confirmed individual-level grade averages 
across the HSFY semester 1 papers for 2023. This includes the papers HUBS191, CELS191, 
PHSI191, and CHEM191. This need not contain further data other than their overall grade 
averages.”

•  The below table shows the cumulative individual average academic scores for the top 282 
Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) students at the University of Otago across all four of the 
Semester 1, 2023 HSFY papers (HUBS191, CELS191, PHSI191, and CHEM191). Please note that 
this data includes students specifically enrolled in HSFY only, and excludes students enrolled in 
other programmes (e.g., Bachelor of Science) who were enrolled in all four Semester 1, 2023 
HSFY papers.
