Thank you for your email of 5 September 2023 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry)
requesting the following information:
Can you please provide a list of al your current and planned capital projects valued at greater
than $1m.
Please include details including:
1) name of school and region
2) status (eg planned, in design, business case approved, procured, construction)
3) value of the project
4) size of project (GFA, no. Classrooms, etc)
5) planned completion date.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), and we
notified you of a decision on your request on 17 October 2023 which is attached for your reference
as
Appendix B.
I am providing you with a list of schools with current projects valued at $1 mil ion or more in the
Ministry’s property projects financial system, including the names of the schools and the education
region, as indicated in the decision letter. This is attached as
Appendix A.
Please note the following caveats for the capital projects in the table provided:
• For Ministry-led projects, the information is provided as at 31 August 2023, due to the
Ministry’s internal processes validating information after month-end.
• For school-led projects, the information is provided as at 19 September 2023, being the
date when we the information was extracted.
• Reported phases have been provided where this information is available through the
Ministry’s database. This information has not been provided for school-led projects and for
a small number of other projects where this information is not held within the database.
• As noted in the decision letter, completion dates have only been provided where an
estimated completion date has been forecast, on any project where there is either
confirmed funding for construction or construction has begun.
