Thank you for your email of 13 September 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment 
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information: 
 
- The recommendations and reasons for any support for asylum seekers proposed to be included in the 
Refugee Resettlement Strategy.  
- Government reasons (discussion documents or other evidence) to agree or disagree with the 
recommendations with the support proposed for asylum seekers. 
- The document detailing the Refugee Resettlement Strategy 2023 (not the picture found online).  
 
You requested  discussion documents (or other evidence) to agree or disagree with the recommendations 
with the support proposed for asylum seekers. However, owing to the volume of information likely to be 
in scope, at present MBIE may have to refuse this part of your request under section 18(f) of the Act, as 
the information requested will require substantial research and collation to be made available. 
We would therefore suggest rescoping this part of your request as ‘Briefings and cabinet papers with 
reasons to agree or disagree with the recommendations with the support proposed for asylum seekers’. 
 
Please let us know if this proposed rescoping is acceptable, and we will continue to progress your 
request.
