Refinement
Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
(the Act), received on 15 September. You requested the following information:
• all records, correspondence, emails, memos, press releases, briefing papers (internal and external)
that used the words "convoy" or "protest" between February 5 2022 and February 10 2022.
I have assessed your request, as it stands your request would take considerable time to col ate the
information. A preliminary search from our IT team using the search terms and dates you have provided
came back with over 5,000 results.
To refine a request, you may want to consider:
• Refining the time period.
• Refining the teams or people involved
• Refining the search terms or including a specific topic related to the search terms
Without refining your request, the Council would either consider refusing your request under section 17(f)
of the Act due to substantial manual collation or research, or consider charging for the request. Should the
Council consider charging for your request, the first half hour is free, then it is $38 (GST included) per half-
hour thereafter.
Please note, any clarification or amendment of a request is a new request for the purpose of calculating the
maximum statutory timeframe for response—see section 13(7) of the Act.
Please let me know if you would like to refine or charge for your request
by 29 September, so that I am
able to provide you with the Council’s decision by 13 October.
Right of review
If you are not satisfied with the Council’s response, you may request the Office of the Ombudsman to
investigate the Council’s decision. Further information is available on the Ombudsman website,
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
Thank you again for your request, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Kind regards
Claudia Holgate
