Thank you for your email on 18 September 2023, asking for the following which has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I request a copy of your Staff Communications Policy and Code of Conduct.
Your request for a copy of our ‘
Staff Communications Policy’ is refused under section 18(e) of the
Act, as the information requested does not exist. However, you may be interested to review a copy
of our interim media policy. Please find the following documentation attached:
• Te Whatu Ora (Interim) Media Policy
• Te Whatu Ora (Interim) Code of Conduct
It is important to note that the attached are the interim policies for Te Whatu Ora national office
staff only.
The Policy Harmonisation programme is in the process of reviewing and standardising national
organisational (non-clinical) policies. The programme will assess what is relevant for all Te Whatu
Ora staff and align it with legislation and best practice to create a repository of clear, up-to-date
policies. While in the process of standardising these policies, Te Whatu Ora has developed a set of
interim policies for national office staff. Hospital areas have been advised to continue using their
existing local policies.
