Thank you for your email of 18 September 2023 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982, the fol owing information:
I would like to know the number of applications(EOIs) that are currently present in the Parent resident
visa ballot pool after the August and September 2023 EOI selections.
Can you also tell me what would happen to the criteria for selection from the ballot pool once the EOIs
in the queued pool have all been selected ( by 2025)?.Will all the 2500 EOIs be selected from the ballot
pool ?. And if that's the case , would they choose the 2500 EOIs using a ballot or based on the date of
application?
Our Response
As at 27 September 2023, the number of Parent Resident Visa expression of interests (EOIs) in the ballot
pool after the August and September 2023 selections is 7,225.
Once al the EOIs in the queue have been selected, the full quota of 2,500 will be selected by ballot selection.
There will be no change to the selection method, which means it will continue to be by ballot.
