Official Information Act 1982 request – Board papers

This letter responds to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request received by Sport New 
Zealand (Sport NZ) on 2 October 2023 requesting the below information: 
 
Can you please provide the Board papers presented to the Board for the approval of 
 
Community and High Performance Sport investment for the most recent investment 
 
rounds. 
 
 
2022-2024 HPSNZ 
 
Community Sport current investment (you only have 2020/2021 on website). 
 
Please find attached as Appendix One the requested information.  
A large portion of the requested information related to the performance, investment and support 
recommendations for Olympic athletes and teams. This Information has been withheld in its 
entirety under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect the privacy of natural person. The information is 
also withheld under section 9(2)(b)(ii) of the OIA as the release of the information would be likely 
unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who is the subject of the 
information.  
In accordance with section 9(1) of the OIA, I have considered whether there are countervailing 
public interest considerations in favour of releasing this information. I do not believe such 
considerations exist in this instance.
