Dear John Luke
Thank you for your email of 4 October 2023 requesting the following under the Of icial
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I would like to request a list of vacancies (ministerial appointment only, e.g. board
member, Lay member, Trustee etc) that the nomination period has been closed but
stil under consideration by the Ministry for the Environment or relevant Minister. In
your list, can you please include the date that vacancy been advertised, what method
you have used to publicly advertise the position, how many applications you have
received and when the vacancy been closed as well. Also, I would like to know if you
have any future opening in 2024. e.g. the position that wil call for nomination in the
year of 2024.
The following table provides you with the information requested. Please note that we cannot
provide information on any potential calls for nominations in the coming year as this will
depend on Ministerial decisions. We have therefore included the terms that are due to expire
in 2024 which wil be considered by Ministers in due course.

Additionally, the National and Built Environment Act 2023 anticipates the establishment of a
number of governance groups. Further calls for nominations are possible, pending
Ministerial decisions.
A Freshwater Working Group is required to be established under section 96 of the Natural
and Built Environment Act 2023. Establishment steps have been initiated but Terms of
Reference and appointments were not completed prior to the General Election. This process
has been paused to be considered by the incoming Minister.
