[FYI request #24427 email]
Tēnā koe Stephen
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request to the Department of Conservation,
received on 12 October 2023 in which you asked for:
‘all communications from 01 November 2022 to present, including but not limited to
Texts , Emails, Phone records, Social messages where the subject or content
included the discussion of OIA requests on RAL liquidation or Administration’.
On October 25th 2023 you refined your request to remove the following
:
•
Internal emails that are purely logistical/administrative in nature
•
External communications which are largely timeframe extensions or administrative.
•
Internal reporting on the status of OIA responses (relating to their status in the
process, rather than to the content of the response).
•
3rd party consultations where the 3rd party response does not materially change the
supply of information.
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to
your request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We
require an additional 20
days to respond to your request. We wil send you a response no
later than 08 December 2023, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as extensive consultation required to make an informed
decision on release material means that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit. In this scenario consultation is required with several
third parties (including iwi) on the release of their correspondence
.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act to make a complaint to
an Ombudsman about the extension.
If you wish to discuss this response to your request, please contact
[email address].
