Thank you for your email of 1 December 2023, requesting information as a follow-up to 
OIA23-0654, relating to the number of permanent roles advertised only internally. Your 
request has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA). 
 
You requested:  
Can I please request additional information for these roles: 
•  title of the role 
•  how long these were advertised for 
 
Please find attached as Appendix One, the titles of the permanent Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 roles 
advertised only internally (not externally) in the last 12 months, and length of time each role was 
advertised. 
 
Section 1 of Schedule 8 in the Public Service Act 2020, states agencies need to advertise roles in 
a way that will enable suitably qualified people to apply for the position. At times, MPI will advertise 
roles internally if deemed appropriate.
