Our Nominations Service has over 1,600 women on its database. In the past year, we
advised our database members about 103 public sector board and committee vacancies.
We matched their skil s and experience to the roles and supported their applications.
Can you please kindly listed the name of positions you have advised your database
member about?
How many other application you have support and can you please supplied the name of
positions you have provided support to. Besides, Bernadette Arapere are there any other
successful case you can share?
The Ministry for Women provides a Nominations Service to support women interested in
governance positions within the public sector. We advise women enrolled in our Nominations
database about vacancies on public sector boards and committees, matching their skil s,
backgrounds, and levels of experience with the roles advertised, and support their
applications if they decide to apply.
In response to the first part of your information request, we have provided the list of 103
public sector board and committee vacancies, that we notified our database members
about between the period 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023 in the table attached in Appendix
One.
Under section 18(g) of the Official Information Act (that the information requested is not
held by the Ministry), we are not able to provide the number of applications we have
supported across the 103 vacancies listed. We don’t capture specific data about the
number of candidates we support across each vacancy as this can be provided in a
number of ways, including sharing information on vacancies, matching skil s and expertise
and responding to questions from candidates. The ministry shares information on board
vacancies but is not always notified of the outcome. This part of the process is managed
by the agencies appointing the boards. Information about board appointments are
