I refer to your official information request dated 03 November 2023, regarding Relating to the 
information Streetlights on Karanghape Road, Auckland. 
 
Our Response 
 
These are in fact decorative lights (not Lasers) and AT checks the electrical connections only and if 
there is a fault other than electrical supply, it gets referred to Auckland Councils Arts 
Department who maintain these. 
 
These small non-streetlight lights do change colour and are programmable and are an artwork 
control ed by Auckland Council.  
 
 
We trust this clarifies your request, but should you believe that we have not dealt with your 
request appropriately, you are able to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in 
accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act and seek an investigation and review regarding 
this matter.
