Response to your request for official information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to Manatū
Hauora (the Ministry of Health) on 7 November 2023 for information regarding the Medical
Radiation Technologists Board (the Board). You requested:
The full meeting minutes of Medical Radiation Technologists Board from 1st Jan 2021
to now. Also the updated register of each board member's conflict of interest. To
ensure public transparency, I encourage the board to consider publish it's meeting
minutes on their website.
Manatū Hauora does not hold information regarding meeting minutes of the Medical
Radiation Technologists Board (the Board). Therefore, your request is refused under section
18(g)(i) of the Act as the information requested is not held by Manatū Hauora, and there are
no grounds for believing it is held by another agency subject to the Act.
While Manatū Hauora does not maintain a conflict of interest register relating to each
member of the Board, we do hold information regarding individual conflict of interest
declarations obtained during a member’s application process. However, this information is
withheld in full under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of natural persons. I
have considered the countervailing public interest in release in making this decision and
consider that it does not outweigh the need to withhold at this time.
You may wish to contact the Board directly with your request for information. While the
Board, as a responsible authority, is not subject to the Act, it is required to consider requests
under the Privacy Act 2020 in accordance with the Health Practitioners Competence
Assurance Act 2003.
I trust this information fulfils your request. If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request
with us, including this decision, please feel free to contact the OIA Services Team on:
[email address].
Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any
decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by email at:
[email address] or by calling 0800 802 602.
Please note that this response, with your personal details removed, may be published on the
Manatū Hauora website at:
