Good afternoon
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act (OIA) request, received on 18 November
2023. You requested:
Treasury uses MailChimp platform to manage subscription services to its Guest

European Union citizens, where General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
are a legal requirement.
It is part of MailChimp requirement that all subscribers are made aware of how
their personal data wil be stored and shared and as such it is also part of
Treasury's requirement, even though it’s not part of New Zealand regulation.
Please provide a copy of the contractual agreement between Treasury and
MailChimp, and any other relevant information you may deem necessary to give.
As MailChimp is a subscription-based software service, by paying a subscription, the
Treasury agree to its Terms of Service, and these can be found on their website at:
https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.
Additionally, you may find the Treasury’s Privacy Statement of interest:
https:/ www.treasury.govt.nz/privacy.
Please note that this letter (with your personal details removed) may be published on
the Treasury website. This reply addresses the information you requested. You have
the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision.
Yours sincerely,
