Tēnā koe Wendy
Thank you for your correspondence of 24 November to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:
Please provide how Immigration New Zealand determines whether a company is ongoing during
the process of assessing Accreditation applications, and what is the process for assessing a
company's sustainability? What evidence is needed to demonstrate a company's sustainability?
Please provide the Immigration internal assessment templates and training materials.
MBIE has assessed and decided grant part of your request, and will provide you the requested
information. However, it will take us some time to process. We will send you the information as soon as it
is ready and without undue delay.
Please note that Standard Operating Procedures, assessment templates and training materials will be withheld
under section 6(c) of the Act, as making available that information would be likely to prejudice the
maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a
fair trial.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, or if you require any further assistance,
please contact [email address].
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of our decision to extend the
time limit. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or
freephone 0800 802 602.
