Mayor Whanau diary
Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (the Act), received on 01 December 2023. You requested the fol owing information:
1. Please list any official meetings or appointments involving Mayor Tory Whanau that have
been cancel ed or rescheduled since the 8th August 2023.
2. Please list any meetings or appointments that Mayor Tory Whanau was scheduled to attend
since 8th of August 2023 which she did not attend.
3. Please list expenses, if any, attributed to the Mayor for
eating/dining/drinking/entertainment since July 1st 2023. This should include the name of
each venue alongside the amount spent.
4. Please list the work days/dates if any, Mayor Tory Whanau has been sick this year.

About the Council - Mayor Tory Whanau - Wel ington
City Council and is the finalised version. Any apologies or rescheduling of meetings would have been
made via phone, text, or email. As such searching for any apologies or rescheduling of meetings or
appointments with no other search terms has been refused under section 17(f) of the Act that the
information cannot be made available without substantial col ation or research. I have considered
the requirements of section 17A, however, these would not remove my reason for refusing your
request.
Please list expenses, if any, attributed to the Mayor for eating/dining/drinking/entertainment
since July 1st 2023. This should include the name of each venue alongside the amount spent.
The mayor’s expenses are available on our website up until September 2023
About the Council -
Mayor Tory Whanau - Wellington City Council with remaining expenses to be published in due
course. This part of your request is therefore refused under section 17(d) of the Act as the
information is or will soon be publicly available.
Please list the work days/dates if any, Mayor Tory Whanau has been sick this year.
Elected Members can apply to Council for leave of absence and a report goes to Council seeking
such leave. The mayor has not applied for a leave of absence. Outside of this there is no ‘leave’ that
the mayor takes or can apply for, including sick leave. Therefore, I am refusing this part of your
request under section 17(g) of the Act as the information is not held.
An apology for Council meetings is required if members are unable to attend. Attendance at Council
meetings are reported on the front cover of the minutes for each meeting. You can see a list of the
meetings (and links to the minutes inside), on our website:

mayor’s schedule.
