Official Information Act request relating to Communications regarding proposal and 
appointment of Judith Collins as King's Counsel 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received 
on 15 December 2023. You requested: 
 
“  Please provide all communications between the Prime Minister's Office and the 
Governor-General or the Office of the Governor-General regarding the proposal to and 
subsequent appointment of Judith Collins to the King's Counsel. ” 
 
I believe that the information you have requested is more closely connected to the functions 
of the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon. Accordingly, I have decided to transfer your 
request to the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon under section 14(b)(i ) of the Act. 
 
The Prime Minister has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer to
