I refer to your information request dated 18 December 2023 made under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act). You have requested information in relation to entry to the University of Otago’s Health
Sciences Professional Programmes in 2024 via the Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) category.
We note we contacted you 11 January 2024 to clarify your request, as some of the Health Sciences
Professional Programmes (specifically the Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Dental Technology, and
Bachelor of Radiation Therapy programmes) do not have a specific HSFY category. Students enrolled in
HSFY apply for these programmes via the 1 Year Tertiary Study category. Your response of 11 January
confirmed that you were interested in receiving the minimum average academic scores to receive
offers to each of the Professional Programme via the HSFY General category, and that you did not
require the information for the Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Dental Technology, or Bachelor of
Radiation Therapy programmes.

1. Number of students who did not receive an outcome (accepted, waitlist, declined) on 18
December 2023 for the HSFY Professional Programmes.
