Request for information 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 16 January 2024, in 
which you requested: 
Has the NZ police briefed the current Minister of Police or any former 
Minister’s of Police regarding al egations or complaints relating to retail crime 
concerning Green Party MP Golriz Ghahraman under the “no surprises” rule 
applicable for govt Ministers.  If so, please provide dates of any advice given 
and correspondence related to such advice. 
I can confirm that there have been no ‘no surprises’ briefings provided to the Minister, or 
any former Ministers of Police, regarding this matter.
