OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 2024/04
On Wednesday 17 January you made a request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA) for
the following information:
1. Material touching on how and when the Commission first came to identify the existence of
the above errors, including any correspondence with media and internal correspondence
between 3 - 7 November 2023.
2. Material touching on the existence of similar errors in the 2020 and 2017 General
Elections.
Copies of all documents that relate to the identification of the existence of errors in the vote count
in the 2023 General Election and any correspondence with media and internal correspondence are
attached.
During the 2020 and 2017 General Election, no errors were identified requiring amendments to the
official results.
In the interests of transparency, we release responses to Official Information Act requests every 3
months. We will publish this response with your personal details redacted.
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to make a complaint to the Ombudsman if you are
not satisfied with the response to your request. Information about how to do this is available at
