Official Information Act request relating to staff turnover. 
 
Thank  you  for  your  Official  Information  Act  1982  (the  Act)  request  received  on  31  January 
2024. You requested: 
 
“Grateful if could provide an indication of staff turnover broken down by business group 
for DPMC for the previous financial year and present financial year.” 
 
Please find below two tables outlining the staff turnover for the 2022/23 financial year (FY), as 
at  30  June  2023  for  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and  Cabinet  (DPMC)  and  the 
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as a Departmental Agency under DPMC. 
 
As the 2023/24 FY is ongoing (1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024), we do not hold a full count of staff 
turnover data for this year. Therefore, this part of your request is refused under section 18(g) 
of the Act, as it is not held.  
 
Please also note that some of the business groups within DPMC are quite small, which can 
distort  turnover  rates.  Therefore,  we  have  included  the  business  unit  sizes  in  an  additional 
column for reference.
