I refer to your email dated 1 February 2024, requesting the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“I am conducting research into the taxation of hybrid and electric vehicles. I would like
access to all background papers and ministerial papers relating to this topic”.
I am responding to your request on behalf of the Government as the topic area is within the
scope of my team’s responsibilities.
The Ministry of Transport contacted you on 2 February 2024 to refine the scope of your request
and you agreed to limit the background and ministerial papers on the topic to those produced
in the last three months.
As all the information requested is publicly available, I am refusing your request under
section 18(d) of the Act. You can access the documents at this url:
