[FYI request #25793 email]
Dear Adam
Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 19 February 2024. You
requested:
1. I am seeking clarification on if The Treasury is planning another UK recruitment
campaign this year?
2. If such a campaign is planned, could you please provide details on the allocated
budget for this recruitment drive?
3. Additionally, I would like to understand how The Treasury justifies the assertion
that New Zealanders are unsuitable for these positions. Historically, many Kiwis
have applied, and a significant number have progressed to the interview stage.
Are there excessive hurdles imposed by The Treasury that differ from standard
market expectations for other employers?
Your request asked three questions pertaining to a UK recruitment campaign. Please
find the responses below:
1. There is no UK recruitment campaign planned for 2024.
2. Not applicable.
3. The Treasury maintains high standards when selecting candidates for roles and
the requirements are outlined when vacancies are advertised. All candidates are
assessed on the selection criteria based on the capability required for the role as
outlined in relevant job descriptions.
Please note that this letter (with your personal details removed) may be published on
the Treasury website.
This reply addresses the information you requested. You have the right to ask the
Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision.
Yours sincerely
