You have asked: 
This is a request for Official Information under the Official Information Act 1982 in relation to 
Government Agency branding and websites. 
I would like to know, under the Official Information Act: 
1.  What is budgeted annual y to manage, maintain, update and host this website? 
2.  If records are kept on the traffic this website receives, how many people annually view this 
website? 
Some of our websites, including the Dog Safety website, are maintained from corporate overheads by 
existing staff and server maintenance overheads. For that reason no specific costs are allocated to 
manage, update and host this website. The OIA only applies to information that is already held by us. 
There is no obligation to create information in order to respond to a request. The information you are 
seeking in this case is not held by the Department of Internal Affairs and would need to be created in 
order to respond to your request. I am therefore refusing part 1 of your request under section 18(g) of 
the OIA. 
The latest web traffic data shows that 24,937 unique visitors visited the site during the period 1 July 
2022 - 30 June 2023. 
If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of our OIA request you have the right, under section 28(3) of 
the Act, to seek an investigation and review of this decision by the Office of the Ombudsman. The
