I refer to your request sent to KiwiRail Chief Executive, Peter Reidy on 29 February 
2024, under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act), asking: 
 
1. Can I please be sent the post incident review's made by your incident managers for 
2024 year to date. 
2. Can KiwiRail attach the last edited dates to these post incident review's. 
 
Thank you for your clarification that these relate to KiwiRail ICT incidents. 
 
Please be advised we are declining your request in ful  under Section 6(c) to maintain 
the security of KiwiRail’s systems. 
 
We have assessed the information, weighed the release of the post incident reviews 
against possible risk to the Organisation, and we are satisfied that the need to 
withhold this information outweighs the public interest in these matters. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review of this response by the 
Ombudsman, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant details can be 
found on the Ombudsman’s website: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
