Thank you for your email of 1 March 2024 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing:
We are writing to formally request access to all relevant internal training materials utilized by
immigration officers when assessing WA2, as outlined in the operational manual of the
Immigration Department of the MBIE.
On 2 April 2024, we advised that MBIE decided to extend the period of time available to make a decision
on your request under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations were necessary to make a decision
on your request were such that a proper response to the request could not reasonably made within the
original time limit. We advised that we would respond to you no later than 19 April 2024.
Our Response
Please refer to the attached Appendices A, B and C for the information in scope of your request as at
1 March 2024. Please note that some information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act to
protect the privacy of natural persons and section 6(c) of the Act, as making this information available
would likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention and investigation as
follows:
