Official Information Act 1982 request – Breakdown of expenses
costs/incurred/claimed by your board for international travel over the past
12 months I acknowledge receipt of your official information request to Education New
Zealand, received on 09 March 2024, seeking information as below:
1. Could I please request a breakdown of expenses costs/incurred/claimed
by your board for international travel over the past 12 months (up to and
including any bookings made or taken in March 2024).
2. Could you also indicate what level of travel class bookings were made.
3. In addition, can you provide any declared gifts that have been given to
directors in their capacity as directors of ENZ over that time, including
during the recent visit to Viet Nam.
I will answer each of your requests in turn below:
1. Could I please request a breakdown of expenses costs /incurred/
claimed by your board for international travel over the past 12 months
(up to and including any bookings made or taken in March 2024).
ENZ has not paid for any international travel by Board members in the last
12 months (including any bookings made or taken in March 2024).
2. Could you also indicate what level of travel class bookings were made.
Not Applicable.
3. In addition, can you provide any declared gifts that have been given to
directors in their capacity as directors of ENZ over that time, including
during the recent visit to Viet Nam.
Based on the scope of the two previous questions, ENZ has defined the
scope of this question to be solely about members of ENZ’s Board. ENZ has
not included any staff roles with the job title of “Director”. The table below
provides information on gifts declared by members of ENZ’s Board from 9
March 2023 to 9 March 2024.
