Dear Jarc
Request for information (OIA 2324-0711)
Thank you for your request for information dated 9 March 2024 made under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department). You
requested the following information:
I am requesting a complete list of the maintenance issues currently occurring at Premier
House.
Additionally, is there a list containing estimated costs and completion times for the
various issues?
Response to your request
The Premier House Board produced a report titled
'Long-term Stewardship of Te Whare
Pirimia -
Premier House'. The Premier House Board report provides in depth detail about the
condition of Premier House and the upgrades and maintenance required. The report also
provides options, timeframes, and indicative costs for the proposed upgrades.
The Department has proactively released the Premier House Board report on our website. You
can view the report at: www.dia.govt.nz/Proactive-Releases#MS. Therefore, Section 18(d) of
the Act applies because the information is publicly available.
I have also attached a table that details recent repairs and maintenance works at Premier
House as
Appendix A.
Premier House is funded from the
Official Residences -
Maintenance Costs category of the
Services Supporting the Executive Multi Category Appropriation (MCA). The Department
releases information related to the funding of this appropriation each year in our Annual
Reports which can be viewed at www.dia.govt.nz/Publications-and-Reports.
If you have any concerns with the information in this response, you have a right to request an
investigation and review by the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. Information on
how to do this is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
