Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of 
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 11 March 2024 for information regarding annual 
tobacco returns. You requested: 
“Could you please provide copies of all the tobacco annual returns received which were 
due for the year ending 31 January 2024 period. If this request is refused under section 
18(d) grounds, please provide the exact date which these annual returns wil  then be 
published on the Ministry website.” 
The Ministry wil  publish the annual tobacco returns filed by manufacturers and importers by the 
end of April 2024 here: www.health.govt.nz/our-work/regulation-health-and-disability-
system/smoked-tobacco-products/information-manufacturers-and-importers-smoked-tobacco-
products/tobacco-annual-returns. For this reason, your request is refused under section 18(d) of 
the Act.
