Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 16 March 2024. You
requested:
1) How many of your staff work from home on a permanent basis.
2) Approximately what proportion of your staff are in the office each day, on
average.
Question 1
The Treasury operates a flexible-by-default approach for working from home. This
means that staff can agree with their manager on working from home arrangements
that are beneficial to the individual, the team, and the organisation. However, these are
treated as informal arrangements and records are not held centrally.
Question 2
We estimate 50% - 60% of our people are in the office each day, on average. Exact
data is not able to be provided due to our approach to flexible work noted above.
