OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
I refer to your official information request of 16 March 2024 for:
-
How many of your staff work from home on a permanent basis.
-
Approximately what proportion of your staff are in the office each day, on
average.
-
If you do not have the above information, please provide any information you
have created within the last 12 months (including but not limited to internal
emails) discussing the extent to which Ministry staff attend the office versus
working from home.
There are no Ministry staff working remotely on a permanent basis. We have had long-
standing policies offering formal and informal flexible working arrangements that work for the
individual, their team, and the wider organisation. The flexible working policy is aligned to the
Public Service Commission’s Flexible-by-Default Guidance. In practice, Ministry staff work
the majority of their working week from the Ministry Office.
