Thank you for your email
of 16 March 2024 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Around the end of November 2023 there was a meeting including NZTA, WCC, HCC and GWRC
considering improvements to the cycle route between Wellington and the Hutt Valley.
Under the OIA we request all information, reports or background provided to this meeting, any
minutes of the meeting, and any reports, decisions or communications resulting from this meeting.
Purely administrative issues (eg meeting time and arrangements) are not required.
In response to our acknowledgement of your request you also requested the role or title of people
mentioned.
We have interpreted this request to be for information relating to an inter-agency cycling meeting that
took place on 3 December 2023, and to be for:
• A list of job titles of people who attended the meeting
• Presentations to the meeting; and
• Minutes, decisions and other communications resulting from that meeting.
Attendees at the meeting were:
From the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA):
• Regional Manager, System Design
• Consultant to NZTA’s System Design team
• Principal Advisor, Communications & Engagement
• Team Lead, Communications & Engagement
• Principal Multi-Modal Advisor, Programme and Standards team.
From local councils:
• Director, Economy and Development (Hutt City Council)
• Head of Regional Transport (Greater Wellington Regional Council).
The following documents fall in scope of your request and are enclosed:
1) Attachment 1 – December Senior Managers Meeting Outcomes
2) Attachment 2 – Hutt Cycle Connections Decisions Dec 2023 FINAL 8 Dec
3) Attachment 3 – emails regarding memo on Welly to Melly Corridor.
Attachment 1 was produced to record the outcomes of the meeting. No other minutes were taken at
the meeting. Attachment 2 was circulated in advance of the meeting and used as the basis for
discussion. Attachment 3 was circulated to attendees before the meeting.
I also note a memo from you was discussed at the meeting.
